Construction Progress Photography for North Georgia Builders: Cumming, Canton, Gainesville & the Growth Corridor

Drive through Forsyth, Cherokee, or Hall County on any weekday and you will see it: cranes over new town centers in Cumming, subdivisions rising outside Canton, warehouses and medical campuses along I-985 near Gainesville. North Georgia is building faster than almost anywhere in the Southeast, and the builders behind that growth are busy. Too busy, usually, to take the photographs their own projects deserve.

That is where I come in. I am Mehmet Serdar, an Atlanta-based photographer, and a growing part of my work is walking jobsites with a camera on a regular schedule.

Progress photography is documentation first

The practical case is simple. Consistent, dated, well-composed photographs from the same vantage points, every two or four weeks, become a visual record of the project. They help with owner updates, lender draws, subcontractor coordination, and, when something is disputed later, they are the evidence that shows exactly what was in place on a given date. A phone snapshot from a superintendent is better than nothing, but a clear set of images with proper exposure and straight lines is something you can actually put in front of a client or an attorney.

But it is marketing too

The same walk that produces the documentation also produces the images that fill your website, your proposals, and your social feeds. Steel going up at sunrise. A crew pouring a slab. The framing of a clubhouse against a North Georgia sky. These photographs show prospective clients what it looks like to work with you, and they tend to perform far better online than the finished, empty building alone. I always make a few of these storytelling frames on every visit, and I keep a running library for each project so your marketing team can pull from it anytime.

How the schedule works

Most builders I work with choose a monthly or bi-weekly visit for the life of the project, plus a final shoot when the building is complete and landscaped. I photograph from consistent ground positions and, when the site allows, from the air with a drone for site-wide progress views. Galleries are delivered within a couple of days, organized by date, and sized for both reports and web use. I cover Atlanta and all of North Georgia, including Dawsonville, Jasper, and Dahlonega, and I travel to Chattanooga and Greenville for contractors with work across the state line.
